It seems that Apple is deciding on how to to spend part of that large amount of cash that’s available. We found out after the latest financial results.. Strategic purchases are often a good investment, and the $500B company has decided to acquire Chomp – a great iPhone application that allows its users to find the best applications from the App Store.. Currently the web version sports a serch box with 3 options and lists the popular applications for the iOS and Android platform.
The rumored redesign of the App Store could also include a substantial improvement in performance through algorithms and application technology. This would help improve user experience and how users (we) discover applications on the iTunes Store. With this move we can see the great importance of the ecosystem of applications for IOS, which reports to Apple many benefits. At the user level, it is expected that the improvement is also substantial, sometimes we have seen cases of poor quality applications appearing on the first results, and even some apps that does not fit the Apple filters in the online store.
Chomp thus becomes the company’s second acquisition this year after Anobit. We assume that this acquisition will bring upon some improvements soon, maybe with the new OS X Mountain Lion?
