IE9 manages HTML5, hardware acceleration (GPU) and it fits better in Windows 7 (Taskbar, Jump Lists, Aero Snap). As version 8 of IE the tabs are isolated into separate processes, which avoid the crashing of all tabs when only one tab crashes (due to an extension / plugin often).
Many users, however, abandon IE in favouring alternative browser like Firefox or Google Chrome 10.4 whose final version will arrive later this week.
However, Microsoft denies more than 50% of the market since IE9 is not available on Windows XP, and is only available on Windows Vista and Windows 7. Yet Chrome, Opera or Firefox work perfectly on all windows platforms. Microsoft sees no real technical roadblock but it’s just one of those sales\marketing strategies…
Even if the performance of IE9 are highly questionable as for Microsoft’s arguments. It is high time to abandon IE6 and move on with the World Wide Web.
Download IE 9 NOW or wait to receive it via Windows Update soon..
